Dear valued parents of Jurong centre.

June has been an exciting month for us together with the children, I am sure most of you would have heard from them talking about it. To prepare them well for our 2010 Kidz in charge event- KIC sports league, the children had a variety of events in school. We have a few visitors this month to enrich our children’s learning.

Mr Chua, from our parents group, has agreed to give a sharing session with our Nursery, K1 and K2 children on the triathlon sport. Children get to learn more about this sport from him who used to be an active triathlon runner.

We brought the Nursery, K1 and K2 class to Jurong Secondary School to experience on basketball sport. The school team gave a demonstration game followed by hands on experiences such as dribbling the ball and throwing the ball.

K1 and K2 were invited to Youth Olympic Games Learning centre (YOGLC) at Kay Siang road. They get to be exposed to the various sports exhibited. Mr Ng Aik Phong, an ex-national fencer, has kindly agreed to do a sharing session with the children on Fencing sport. The children got excited when they get to try out the steps in fencing.

We were also honoured to have the national hockey team from Hockey Federation of Singapore. They came to our centre and did a sharing on hockey sport to our K1 and K2 children. The K2 children had hands on coaching experience on the sport and played a friendly game. K1 children who wanted to learn more about soccer, had a wonderful time with a football coach, Mr Dean. They came back full of perspiration after 1 hour of soccer play with him.
The toddlers and playgroup children had great time too by having ample opportunities to practice the 10 sport activities, such as Frisbee throw, balancing with beanbag, crawling through tunnel, riding on tricycle etc.

Finally KIC event came by and gone, what we treasured most is the learning journey we went through with the children.

We look forward to create more inspiring moments with your child. Please enjoy the photographs.
